Pilot-scale project for reverse osmosis treatment of landfill leachate
Project Details
Forward Osmosis (FO) is a novel membrane separation technology driven by concentration. It relies on the concentration difference between the two sides of the selective permeation membrane to achieve the spontaneous separation process of water transfer. Compared with traditional membrane concentration processes, the forward osmosis process has a higher concentration ratio and can concentrate the filtrate to nearly saturation. It can replace the concentration stage in traditional thermal processes and is currently one of the research hotspots in the field of membrane separation technology worldwide. In various application fields, the forward osmosis technology has obvious advantages. The forward osmosis system can withstand large fluctuations in water quality, has strong anti-fouling and anti-blocking capabilities, and operates stably. The forward osmosis technology not only reduces the energy consumption of water treatment processes and improves the system recovery rate, but also optimizes the water quality at the end of the process and is environmentally friendly.
This pilot project was organized by Beijing POSOTO International Electrical Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. The main process route is divided into two major systems: forward osmosis concentration and draw solution regeneration.
